Online yoga classes – update on our classes

Regular readers will know that we have been running a chair-based Yoga class twice a week. (If you have missed it, click here to read more about our different yoga classes)

Spaces have now become available for the non-chair-based online yoga class.

The class, which is 75 minutes long, is still designed with the challenges of MS in mind but involves standing and floor work.

Everyone is invited to do as much as they feel is comfortable for them and the class can be adapted to meet people’s individual needs. The class normally begins with about 20 minutes of seated movements which can be done either on a chair or sitting on the floor. We then move to standing for about 15-20 minutes and then the rest of the class takes place on the floor. Some movements are seated and some of the postures are done lying on the floor. Yoga encourages us to become more aware of the body and breath and the class ends with a 10 minute relaxation.

Yoga is widely recommended for people with MS and is included in the NICE guidelines. It combines movement, strengthening work and stretching. It works on the entire body.

Class time: 11.30 am – 12.45 on Wednesdays

If you want to join, please click here to visit our Yoga page and complete the contact form. We will be in touch before your first class.
