Lateral Flow

Lateral Flow Tests for people with MS

April 1, 2022 | Southmedia

An update about lateral flow tests

Lateral Flow tests are no longer free for members of the general public. The government has clarified their plans and from what we understand people with MS qualify for free tests which are available through the post.

We are trying to understand how many of our members have received tests, so we would appreciate if you let us know. There is only one question: have you received lateral flow tests from the NHS? We have set up a small survey here: https://forms.gle/NNZ61cjj9Ha8GziZA

Here is the information the MS Society posted on Facebook:

‘Free Covid-19 tests will end for most people in England. Tests will be available for people with MS who have Covid-19 symptoms. That’s because everyone with MS is eligible for early Covid-19 treatment assessment. You’ll be sent lateral flow tests to keep at home in case you have symptoms. If you get Covid-19 symptoms and haven’t yet received your test pack, contact 119. Tell them you need a test because you have MS, so you’re eligible for an early Covid treatment assessment.’
