How accurate is the information you are reading?

11 September 2020

Regular blog readers will know we regularly share information from the MS Trust and the MS Society. But they are only the tip of the news and information out there.

We googled 'MS'. We expected a lot of results. But the actual number? 2,480,000,000 webpages were found in 0.56 seconds. I think it took longer to type it

So what do you trust? Many pages will come from reputable MS charities and healthcare organisations. But the rest? How do you know what is right and wrong? A subject like MS is more difficult than some as so much is subjective. What works for one person does not necessarily work for others.

Lucky for us the MS Trust have put a guide together to help us navigate the information out there.

From the MS Trust:

'We live in an information age. Now more than ever before we have ready access to an enormous quantity of data about health, treatments and research – from the internet, though the press, and on social media. But how do we know who to trust and understand what all this information is telling us? Simon from the MS Trust's Information Team has some tips to help you find the health information you can trust.'
