"Having been a member of the BMSTC for almost 11 years and a Trustee for 7 years I have had the good fortune to see what the Centre can offer, not only to those that have MS, but also to the families and carers of the sufferers.

I think that I am right in saying that most of the members benefit in one way or another from the wide choice of therapies that are available at BMSTC myself included.

I have gained an enormous amount of benefit by attending the Centre from something that is not listed or advertised as a Therapy. When you enter the building you can feel a wonderful sense of "belonging". You instantly feel that you are a member of a big family that understands completely what you are going through and are more than willing to help you through the bad times. I can honestly say that the kind of friends that you make at the Centre, whether they are fellow sufferers and those close to them, or the staff that are the beating heart of the centre, they are the kind of friends that will never desert you despite the best efforts of MS."

General Information

The MS Society has an excellent website which is packed with information for people with MS. The local branches at Reading & Wokingham, Newbury & District and Maidenhead & Slough also now have their own websites which are highly recommended. The MS Trust has lots of information and publications which can be downloaded or ordered.

The BMSTC is not part of any of these organisations but works in partnership with them to provide help & support for people with MS.

Henley MS Support Group

The Henley MS Support Group is an exciting new partnership project between the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre & The Henley & Districts Branch of the MS Society.

The new service will be launched in January 2010 on Thursdays, and will be based at the Thames Valley Headway unit, Brunner Hall, Greys Road, Henley-on-Thames.
Initially a MS specialist Neuro-Physiotherapy, FES Clinic and Counselling service will be offered. We hope to extend the service to include other therapies such Chiropody and Massage. There will also be a social area available for people with MS, their friends and family in which to socialise and exchange ideas and information.  For further information click here.  For enquiries and bookings please email pippa@bmstc.org or call 0118 901 6000.
