London Irish RFC are delighted to be supporting the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre as their chosen local charity for the 2008-9 season and officially launched the new partnership on Thursday 13th November. To celebrate the launch London Irish First team players Peter Hewat and Dan Murphy called into the Centre in the West of Reading with the town’s Mayor and Mayoress, Peter & Cynthia Baird to meet the members and look around the centre.
in Broad Street, Reading has chosen the BMSTC as their Charity of the Year and they will be actively raising funds for the Centre over the next 12 months.
On Friday 30th May the partners kicked off the fundraising with a Quiz in their staff restaurant above the store in Broad Street. Twenty teams taking part raising over £1000. You can see from the picture taken by the Reading Evening Post, that everyone had a great time.
The partners are now planning to run the Professional’s Quiz that is hosted by Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee in February next year. There had been fears that this year’s quiz was going to be the last as the costs in hiring a suitable venue in Reading was proving too high. Now, thanks to John Lewis, we are looking at it going into its 11th year.
Construction Angels
The Charity Fundraising Group the Construction Angels have also chosen the BMSTC as one to the charities that they will actively raise funds for in 2008.
